Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin was born in the city of Winnipeg, but was raised in Wellington. She was the first actress to make her acting debut in Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano. For this role, she won the Academy Award of Best Supporting Actress for the romantic drama The Piano at the young age of 11. She was the second youngest winner in Oscar history. Anna Paquin's full title is Anna Helene Paquin. Born July 24th 1982 at Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, she was the first Canadian birthed New Zealand actress. As an infant, she won the Academy Award for best support actress. Her role as the talkative and inquisitive character Holly Hunter played in The Piano (1993) earned her the prize. Paquin appeared as Frankie Addams in a 1997 film adaptation for television of the novel by Carson McCullers The Member of the Wedding as well as a small role as the queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). The actress played teens in the films of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) as well as the character of the polexia Aphrodisa girl as part of Almost Famous (2000).
